The original NEET-UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3 was cancelled after concerns regarding exam integrity and alleged malpractice.
A re-examination has been scheduled for June 21, 2026 across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed the Supreme Court that enhanced security measures have been implemented for the re-exam. These include biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, AI- based monitoring, and stricter transportation protocols for question papers.
Reports indicate that the government is considering assistance from the Indian Air Force to ensure secure transportation of question papers.
The Supreme Court recently declined requests to conduct the re-exam in a computer-based format, meaning the June 21 exam will continue in the traditional pen-and-paper mode.
NTA has indicated that NEET-UG may transition to a computer-based test (CBT) format from 2027 onwards

10% reservation is available for EWS candidates in NEET UG admissions.
The EWS quota is meant for candidates from the General (Unreserved) category who meet the government’s income and asset criteria.
A valid Income & Asset Certificate (EWS Certificate) is required to claim the reservation benefit.

Annual family income below ₹4 lakh
. Family should not own 5 acres or more of agricultural land
. Family should not own a residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. or more.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, or OBC categories are not eligible for EWS reservation
